Hiroshi Yoshida
Hiroshi Yoshida was a Japanese printmaker and illustrator from the turn of the century. He started as a painter, but eventually became fascinated with woodblock printing and used that in many of his later pieces. I stumbled upon this artist through Twitter recently and fell in love with his work. When I found out that many of his works are woodblock printed, I immediately felt a connection because I recently learned about the process for a research project. I love the serenity that each piece creates with the muted colors and landscapes. Looking at each piece, it's amazing the amount of detail used, especially considering how involved woodblock printing is. Yoshida doesn't seem to be an extremely famous artist so I couldn't find one specific place to find more of his work (sadly).
